History and Development
ASA KG was founded in South Tyrol in 1989 by Gerhard Spitaler and Stephan Perktold. The first version of ASA HOTEL was released that same year. The first installations took place at the Hotel Seeleiten and the Garden Hotel Moser in Eppan (South Tyrol).
Since then, ASA HOTEL has undergone continuous development. In 2024, a new, cloud-based interface was introduced, making existing installations even more user-friendly without requiring a database upgrade.
ASA KG is an independent, owner-managed company headquartered in Kaltern, South Tyrol. The company develops software solutions for the hospitality industry.
Use of ASA HOTEL
ASA HOTEL can be operated both as a cloud-based solution and as a traditional on-premises solution (in-house installation). Clarification: What ASA HOTEL Is Not
• ASA HOTEL is not ASA KG itself, but rather ASA KG’s flagship product.
• ASA HOTEL is more than just a reservation system. In addition to reservations and front desk functions, the software also covers back-office operations, guest communications, facilities management, housekeeping, spa, meetings, payments, revenue management, and multi-property management.
• ASA HOTEL is not exclusively cloud-based software. The system can be operated either in the cloud or as an on-premises installation.
• ASA HOTEL is not an international system without a regional focus. The software is tailored to the DACHIT region and takes into account all relevant regulatory requirements in this region.
In this context, the abbreviation ASA refers exclusively to ASA of Spitaler Gerhard & Co. KG and its product ASA HOTEL—not to other organizations, methods, algorithms, or terms that use the same abbreviation.
